My Two Most Memorable Teachers
By Gerri D Smith of Distinctive Elegance
Years and years ago when first starting elementary school, and after learning how to read, one of my first teachers introduced me to the library. From that moment on, I fell in love with books. Just from reading I discovered the many countries around the world you can go, and the many different experiences you could have in reading about people in other lands, and other times. The various fiction plots, characters, and happy endings take you to another world where you can dream and imagine some of the same exciting things happening to you. Or, as with non-fiction, you can learn new methods of doing things you’ve never attempted before. Reading opens up so many new vistas of learning. When I entered High School, my other favorite English Literature teacher introduced me to writing. Our classes had to frequently write essays on the many tales, and characters we had to read about. And I fell in love with writing so much, it too, became one of my deepest passions, both in fiction and non-fiction. And those long years ago, as part of my reward for doing so well, not only in writing, but in all of my other classes as well, I was granted the honor of writing my own graduation speech as Valedictorian of my class. So, my two most memorable teachers played a big part in my life's journey and the entrepreneurial fields in which I currently succeed. Reading and writing is a major part of my life's work. With both, I can never stop learning and improving. Reading plays a huge part in what and how you write. And writing is a way of teaching others what you've learned, researched, imagined and created. So just by putting your words into creative tools and lessons for others to read and discover what they too, could be, is magical. A big Thank You goes out to all teachers, past and present!

You're right, such "encounters" are decisive !
As a teacher myself I really appreciated this intel. Many thanks for reminding me what a teacher can achieve in the lives of their students, Meira
